The project also recognizes 500 prominent women across the country. The list also includes the likes of Amy Tan, Maya Angelou, Michelle Obama, and Tarana Burke. This year’s 100 Women of the Century will be distributed in print and digital.

The women featured in USA Today’s list are American citizens who have made significant contributions in their fields. They must have been born in the U.S. and have lived in the United States from 1920 to the present.
